1980 Scholarship Squad member, Bergman played Under 19s and Reserves with the Demons. Despite being named on the 1984 senior list he didn’t play, instead joining Sandringham. He played 72 senior games there until 1990, via a stint with St Kilda Reserves in 1985, playing representative football for the VFA in 1987. He then returned to CBC, and was at St Kilda/South Caulfield in 1992.
