Defender originally selected by the Giants with the first pick in the 2011 rookie draft. Played five games in his first two seasons before 16 in 2014 after which he was traded to the Demons.

In his early days at Melbourne he played more as a forward and relieving ruckman than as a defender before dropping out of the side after suffering a broken toe in the Round 3 loss to Adelaide. The injury eventually finished his season.

In 2016) he started the season as a forward being returning to defence, and played exclusively as a backman in 2017. Started 2018 in the VFL, then played two games early in the season before being dropped. Returned in Round 16 and retained his place for the rest of the season, including Melbourne's three finals.

Had his most complete season in 2019, playing all 22 games in a backline that was otherwise decimated by injury, but was deemed surplus to requirements at the end of the season and traded to Hawthorn. Melbourne gave up Frost, 2019 Draft picks 42, 61, and a future fourth round pick, in exchange for pick 50 and a future second pick.
