Defender/midfielder signed on the eve of the 2022 season as a replacement for Isabella Simmons, who had been ruled out for the year by a foot injury. Didn't play a game during the year and was delisted at the end of the season. The Demons picked her again with their first selection in the post-season draft. A season-ending injury to Gabrielle Colvin opened a spot for Chaplin, and she played all but one game for the season on the way to a premiership victory.
Missed the opening round of 2023 with concussion, and was dropped for two weeks in the middle of the season but played a further nine games. Signed a one year contract extension at the end of the year, and had a breakthrough year in Melbourne's difficult 2024 season, and was named in the extended All Australian squad.
Before the 2025 season, Chaplin signed a contract extension to the end of 2027. After playing every game of the 2025 early rounds, and being named an All Australian for the first time, Chaplin missed the first two games of Melbourne's finals campaign with a hamstring injury.
