Ruck rover who played nine games for Sandringham after moving from Queensland and was picked up by the Demons in the mid-season draft. Wore number 50 in 1991.
Before travelling to Victoria Wearne was attached to the Brisbane Bears. His brother David played 18 games for the Bears. The two clashed in the 1991 Reserves Grand Final but it was David and the Bears who took home the victory.
Wearne is the only Demon ever to represent Queensland in State of Origin football.
