Saturday 7 September - Melbourne Ground
Melbourne 0.1
Albert Park 0.5 (half time 0.1 to 0.1)
Match drawn
With several of their best players absent, Melbourne were not at their best and the match had little to recommend it. Albert Park too were missing some key figures in their side.
After just two 'scoring' shots in the first half the advantage was with Albert Park in the second half. They were the more aggressive side, had another four behinds (including one narrowly touched over the line) but could not find a major. When Melbourne attacked they were repelled by Albert Park's strong defence.
Best were McKie, Houston and McDonald.
