After three losses in a row, the Demons recovered from a slow start to run out thumping winners against the team that had taken their spot at the top of the ladder a week earlier. After recovering to be just a goal down at quarter time, Melbourne kicked six goals to one in the second quarter to take a comfortable lead into the long break. In all three of their recent losses they'd given away a lead but made sure of victory in their rare Thursday night home game, adding anohter eight goals to three in the second half.
Best were Viney, Oliver and Lever. Jayden Hunt was an unused substitute.
