Chris Tarrant, Anthony Rocca and Josh Fraser had 13 goals between them and the Demons defensive woes got even worse when Alistair Nicholson suffered a serious knee injury which ended his season. David Neitz was forced into defence to cover for the loss of Nicholson but his side had no answers for the dominance of the Pies who had sewn the match up by midway through the second quarter when Tarrant already had three goals on the mismatched Troy Broadbridge.
Craig Ellis moved onto Tarrant but still conceded four further goals for the rest of the match.
