A Seconds player in 1940 and 1941, the half-forward/winger made his league debute in 1943. He missed the next two seasons, then served as Seconds vice-captain in 1946. He returned for one more game as a defender that year.
He captain/coached the University Mildura side in 1947 and won the Mildura League's best and fairest, then crossed to Hawthorn in 1948 and 1949. Seven games into his second year he joined VFA side Brighton, then transferred to Morwell in 1950.
Served in the RAAF during World War II.
