First recruited at the end of the 1975 season, Seaton remained in the country and played in a Bendigo League premiership side in 1977 before earning a debut in the first round of 1978 after impressing in practice matches.
The rover played nine games in each of his first two years - earning four Brownlow Medal votes in 1979 - and one late in 1980 before being cleared to Wangaratta Rovers before the 1981 season. At Tongala in 1985.
