Elected to the board at the end of 1985. Defeated in an election at the end of 1991, he returned to the board in 1993, serving until resigning after 1999. Before the Round 10, 1997 game against Richmond, he was struck by Garry Lyon as the teams ran onto the ground, after allegedly making a comment that Lyon was only playing to tick a contractual clause to be paid.

Was printing executive and manager of Northern Press.
