An army veteran who enlisted in 1916, serving with the 54th Battalion and 5/29th Infrantry Regiment. He remained in the army after the war and was promoted to Major. He served again in World War II in a variety of roles.

After spending all of 1921 playing in the Seconds, Corby played one game as a forward for one goal in 1922.
