Against a side with 18 AFL listed players, Sandringham coach Mark Williams was forced to play one short of his allocation due to a senior recall for Shannon Motlop, and Nathan Brown being required as an emergency for the seniors. When the Cats kicked four of the first five goals it looked like this would be too much to overcome, before the Zebras booted the next five goals to lead at quarter time.
