Fifteen points down at the last break, having only won one of their last seven games, the Zebras looked dead and buried going into the final term of their cut-throat elimination final on enemy territory. Sandringham then nearly doubled their score in the last term and a Ross Funcke goal gave them a nine point lead deep into time-on.
Brad Flower, son of Robbie, impressed on his senior debut.
