The tall defender joined for the 1926 pre-season, and debuted in the first game of the season after impressing in practice matches. He was recommended to the club by Harry Harker
He continued to commute from South Gippsland for training and playing and his VFL career lasted just the first four games of the season. He was retained in 1927 but didn't play another game and was cleared to Nar Nar Goon mid-season.
