The granddaughter of Melbourne legend Donald Cordner was a soccer player with no Australian rules background when recruited as a Category B rookie before the 2017 season.
Cordner played every game of her first season but was delisted at the end of the year. She joined VU Western Spurs before being re-signed as a free agent again. She broke back into the side in the last four weeks of 2018, and over the next two years emerged as a reliable key defender. At the end of 2020, Cordner was traded to Richmond for pick #17 in the 2020 Draft.
At the end of the 2022 spring season, Cordner was traded to Carlton.
